This image was totally photoshopped. The repetition of the smoke is clearly visible. They might have used the clone stamp tool for this.

I believe that this magazine cover was not photoshopped because this is a paparazzi photo. There is also no evidence of any filter or effects applied.

oprah-1

Oprah

I believe that this cover was photoshopped. Oprah could not possibly be sitting on a real pile of money. It would collapse. Also, her left arm looks skinnier, while her right looks more muscular. They probably forgot to use the same effect that they applied on her left arm, onto her right. The photoshopper might have used a cutting tool (lasso, quick select or magic wand tool) to cut her out and place her on a picture of a pile of money.

I believe that this cover was also photoshopped. They made the model’s skin tone appear much darker. They might have used some shadows or darkening effects to do this. They also use a vignette effect on this photo.

I believe that this photo was not photoshopped. The subject appears normal and natural. There is also no evidence of any Photoshop effect or filters that might have been used.

Faith Hill

I believe that this magazine cover was photoshopped. The model’s arm is out of proportion. It looks too thin and long for the rest of her body. The photoshopper might have used the liquify tool to do that. Also, her skin looks totally flawless, no blemishes, wrinkles, or anything. It’s either because of make-up or Photoshop tools and filters.

Emma Stone

I believe that these magazine covers were photoshopped. They are clearly the same picture, just edited differently. They made Emma Stone’s skin tone look much lighter on the second cover. They got rid of the freckles and blemishes on her face. In this case the photoshopper might have used the spot healing brush to do this. Also, they do this to advertisements like magazine covers to make the photo or the model look more appealing. They try to get people’s attention to buy their magazines, because let’s face it; no one would want to buy a magazine with a poor cover. http://www.whosdatedwho.com/tpx_46360/emma-stone/magazinecovers_8

Hunger Games

This movie poster is photoshopped. The effects used are clearly visible. They might have used some adjustment tools to control the shadows and midtone of the subject. They do this to further reflect the mood of the movie on their advertisements.
